There’s tons of excitement in the air surrounding 3D printing these days. While 3D printing is a huge topic, it’s more than just a buzzword—It’s innovating design and manufacturing as we know it!

Here at Saratech, we are locked in to the newest updates and capabilities of design optimization and additive manufacturing. 3D Printing is working to revolutionize the process through extensive customization and unreal efficiency! Rapid prototyping assisted through programs such as NX CAD makes it a viable option for many of our clients and customers.

Long ago, 3D printing, or additive manufacturing moved from theoretical to reality. In recent years 3D printers have become cheaper to produce. Our partner Solidscape has several models that are now available for sale, as well as designs for products. Experts predict 3D printers will be common in homes in coming years.

The speed and cost-effectiveness of this technology is impressive, but you know what’s even cooler? 3D printing not only works for us engineers, but for doctors, dentists, artists, product designers, animators and jewelers as well. 3D printing’s uses range from practical objects for everyday use, to commercial products and parts used in manufacturing. Plus, the technology holds promise for bioprinting of human parts for medical purposes. Talk about a diverse crowd of creativity!

The beauty in 3D printing is that it can take all types of materials and print them in several sizes to scale the models you create, leaving the possibilities of what’s to come in the future limitless! We are excited to demo the capabilities of 3D printing right in our own home office with the help of our partner Solidscape. We use a variety of the 3D printers available to us and we definitely made use of test driving them.

If you’re interested in learning more about the benefits of 3D assisted optimization, you’re in luck: We are currently in the process of a three-part 3D Webinar series. Stay tuned for updates on times, dates and registration! Don’t let your manufacturing process stay in the dark ages!
