Saratech Acquires Apex DMS Inc., a Siemens PLM Software Business, from the Sconce Group
Mission Viejo, CA, June 2020 — Saratech, an award-winning provider of Engineering Services, Siemens Digital Industries PLM Software and 3D Printing Solutions, has announced the acquisition of Apex Digital Manufacturing Solutions, Inc. (Apex), a PLM software provider, from the Sconce Group effective June 2, 2020. Saratech will take over all of Apex’s PLM software license and subscription sales, support services, and training classes.
The Apex acquisition is directly in line with the long-term strategy of Saratech to expand the company’s footprint as a premier engineering company providing services, PLM software, and manufacturing support throughout the United States. Saratech Acquires 3D Printing Business from TekPro Group

Saratech Partners with UC Irvine’s Institute for Design & Manufacturing Innovation by Providing Access to Nearly $750,000 of 3D Printing Equipment
Mission Viejo, CA, February 2019 — Saratech announced that it has partnered with UC Irvine’s Institute for Design and Manufacturing Innovation (IDMI) to further collaborate on the advancement of additive manufacturing (AM) and 3D printing techniques.
“The UCI and Saratech Partnership is an excellent opportunity to introduce engineering students to the advancing technologies associated with 3D printing,” said Saeed Paydarfar, Ph.D., CEO of Saratech. “By sharing Saratech’s expertise and equipment with UCI’s engineering program, we can rapidly advance the benefits of 3D printing to additive manufacturing.”
This partnership includes placing Saratech’s 3D printing equipment from HP, Markforged and BigRep at IDMI’s facility to allow the teams to develop “Design for Additive Manufacturing” training material and to effectively research new, innovative additive manufacturing techniques and post-manufacturing processes. Placing equipment on the UCI campus gives students and faculty easy access to advanced 3D printing technology.

Saratech Awards Research Grant to UC Irvine’s Engineering Department
Grant for the Study of Additive Manufacturing & Development of Advanced Training Techniques
Mission Viejo, CA, February 2019 —Saratech today announced that it has awarded a $30,000 grant to UC Irvine’s Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering for research on additive manufacturing techniques and online learning advancement in Computer Aided Design (CAD), simulation and 3D printing.
“We are very excited to partner with UCI in support of advancements in engineering,” said Saeed Paydarfar, Ph.D., CEO of Saratech. “We want to educate and inspire current and future generations of designers, inventors and engineers.”
In collaboration with the Institute for Design and Manufacturing Innovation (IDMI) at UCI, this grant will allow further research in a variety of additive manufacturing techniques and post-manufacturing processes using commercially available 3D printing machines.
Other research objectives include evaluating the effectiveness of delivering Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) content online, specifically in the fields of CAD, simulation (using finite element analysis) and additive manufacturing.
